The West Side Y is a good place for the price, but don't expect any amenities. The bed and room were clean, the shared bathrooms weren't too bad, the mini-cafeteria had little to offer, but you could get wireless in the dining hall if you sat next to the window. I had meetings at the New York Atheletic Club at the south end of Central Park, and for a ten-minute walk between there and the Y I saved $200 over a night at the NYAC.
It's close to Central Park and Columbus Circle, people are nice, guests weren't noisy
cable connection poor, window treatments useless, bed short (and I'm under 6')
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walk on 63rd away from Central Park and you'll come on a collection of indoor-outdoor restaurants

Some of the local hostels are better at half the price.
