Overall, if coming to San Juan, I would plan on staying a few days in the Isla Verde region to experience the beach and the casinos. An evening at El San Juan hotel is a must even if you're not a guest there. Go to its rooftop TexMex hoot of a dining experience The Ranch, then go downstairs for an excellent club experience at Club Brava. If you can still stand at 3:00 a.m., leave Brava and head to the Casino. Watch the sun rise at the beach on your walk home!
- Nightlife Tip : If you're looking to enjoy the nightlife of Old San Juan, hotels in the Isla Verde region aren't for you unless you don't mind spending hefty taxi fees to transport you the 7 miles that separate the two areas. Also, if travelling by bus, be ready to wait anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes, because their schedule can be unreliable.
