For us, the city centre can be noisy (and Hue would be no exception). So, being on the city centre edge, it has a great location. And, most rooms overlook the Perfume River. Please note the 'Cons'. If you can deal with these, then it will appeal. For us, we dealt with the 'Cons' and these merely made for an annoying aspect to an otherwise pleasant stay.
The dollar value was appealing. The proximity to the city centre was a plus. And, the hotel was quiet.
(1) The staff appeared over-willing to try and charge a huge amount of money for items offered for free; so be careful to ensure you have made sure 'services' won't be charged for. (2) The room connected to a huge deck and staff used this as a thoroughfare. Rooms above level #2 don't have this 'problem'. (3) The room was 'tired', and smelt musty. (4) The staff didn't always clean the room, and we had to ask for towels, soap, etc.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The historical attractions are located well apart. We hired a motorscooter (120cc step through motorcycle) for 100,000 Vnd/day. For us, it was fun, saved on 'tour fees' and gave us a better insight into local culture. And, the traffic in Hue is minimal compared to Hanoi/Saigon.

Nice room. Great view of Perfume river from balcony. Poor cleaning. Other guests medicine in drawer. They charged us for getting taxi and cyclo. None of the other hotels we stayed at in Vietnam did that. Breakfast was ok. We did not see many other hotel guests at our visit so maybe i t was low season.

- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Citadell and the Thien Mu pagoda is well worth a visit.
