Enjoyed my stay at the Taipan. Rooms are aged, but are clean and quiet. Nice place to recover from jet lag. The pool area is small but seems to be under used by guests so we had it to ourselves for two days. Hotel is walking distance to the MRT and Skytrain. The staff is friendly. Breakfast buffet costs 177 baht if you purchase on site, which was cheaper then buying with the room.
Good location, friendly staff, quiet though near busy areas.
Rooms are aged, beds very hard.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Soi Cowboy is around the corner, which is the vision westerners have of Thailand from Vietnam era movies.

This hotel is in a good location, easy walk to MRT and BTS, close to Emporium Shopping Centre and Soi Cowboy. The room was fine, the furniture quite old. I asked for one big bed and was given twin beds. The pool is small and very cold, but good for a cool off. The gym is small but quite well equipped. Breakfast was fine, not a big choice but there is a man who will cook your eggs any way you want.
Close to MRT & BTS.
Slightly dated.
- Nightlife Tip : Head next door to short cut to trains, stop off in their lounge for a lovely cocktail (delicious!).

I needed a business hotel in the area and this fit the bill. Room was clean, service dependable and the stay generally pleasant. The main point for me was location as my business was in the same district. Staff friendly and helpful and provided info when needed. Overall, I have no complaints.
