I stayed in a "superior room" - it was nice and large. The staff is friendly, but their English is not as good as some other hotels in the area - but you will survive. The bedroom was very nice and modern, but the bathroom was a bit old and run down. For me, the location was fantastic - easy to get a cab if you need it, can walk within 3 minutes to the BTS or the free hotel (Hilton, Sheraton, Peninsula, etc) shuttle boats. I would recommend. Good value for the money.
This hotel has a great location. Walking distance to the Shangri-la, Robinson's, BTS, and the boat piers. Good value for the money.
Bathroom needs to be updated.
Internet wi-fi signal sometimes a bit "iffy".
Free Breakfast only has very limited menu.
- Restaurant Tip : Visit the "blue chair cafe" (a series of street vendors outside the Shangri-la) for great, cheap food.

My family and I family are really satisfied....no regret at all that we chose the Astera Hotel. And maybe we'll come again next year! Since I really love Thailand, I fall in love with Thailand!!!
And maybe each year I'll visit Thailand...
Be ready for my coming Astera. Sawasdee.
Actually for my 1st time in Astera,I really liked it a lot. Since the position of the hotel itself, and the service, and not to forget the sanitation at the hotel. So, I really satisfied.
Nothing I guess.

This hotel is in a location that is near the skytrain station that is last on the line. It is very useful from that point of view and is a couple of stops down from the red light district and markets if you are interested in them.
The rooms are nice and comfortable and satisfactory for the price.
The Internet though, is very expensive - $25 for two hours WiFi when just down the road in an Internet cafe you can get the net for just 50c an hour! Admittedly you don't have the same privacy.
It is near the river so that is good - use the river boat to travel to other areas and avoid the traffic jams of Bangkok!
Or use the Skytrain which is equally fast and comfortable.
Near the skytrain.
Staff are pleasant and try their best to help.
Pool is nice.
Near a main highway though the noise is largely blocked.
Gym is poor.
Staff have little English speaking skill - but they are learning and take pride in helping.
- Travel tip : The skytrain closes off at 11.50 so you will need a taxi at night if you are out to get back.
