"Not near the new airport"

I thought it was close to new airport (Suvanabhumi) but it was near the old one across town. It took one and half hours to reach the hotel by taxi and the fare was double what it would take to get downtown. The room was big and decent. There was nothing around the hotel.

The fact that it`s so close to the airport is a real plus - for late night arrivals and early morning getaways. Sound of plane traffic not a problem - if you`re leaving early, you`re up before the planes anyway!
