This is NOT a river front hotel. Not walking distance, but a 10 minute cab ride to the river. The first room we had was more a prison cell! (Small with a tiny excuse for a window and the sink in the room). After we complained, they did upgrade us to a "deluxe" room. It was roomier with big windows and a view but a bit smelly and dirty. We saw a bug in the bathroom. The food we ordered from room service was expensive but barely edible.
-Nice lobby
-friendly staff.
-far away location
-tiny room
-room dirty
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Singapore river scene is very hip. Nicely lit up with lots of hip restaurants and bars. Boat trip was also nice

Booked a Superior room but was upgraded to their newly refurbished Club rooms. Room was exquisitely
refurbished and it felt so warm and spacious. Bathroom was separated by tempered glass wall which made the room even bigger. I will certainly make Furama Riverfront one of my choice hotel on my weekly trip to Singapore. Sales dept. was quick to acknowledge my request for corporate rates and it was on my desk the very next day.
Refurbished rooms are on par with 5 Star hotels
in Singapore !!
Front office reception looks dated. Needs an overhaul to portray a better image for hotel.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Taking a walk along the river is absolutely relaxing.

Overall I was quite impressed by this hotel, my experience here was great and I would definitely stay here again. The staff were courteous and friendly, the room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, the TV (and remote) and safe all worked flawlessly.
Take a walk to the nearby Clarke Quay in the evenings.
I found the two reception girls on night shift extremely courteous, warm and helpful during check-in.
The hop-on-hop-off bus stops nearby.
Complimentary Coffee and tea-making facilities.
Location is not that great but definitely manageable. There was never a shortage of taxis and there is a shuttle bus to Orchard road and Chinatown (you need to book with the Concierge when you arrive).
Internet access in the room is not free. I also wish more hotels would install a multi-plug electrical socket at the desk (common practice in bathrooms) for laptops, phone chargers etc.
- Travel tip : There is a row of eating houses across the road behind the hotel - catering for locals so the prices are good.
