Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal and home to more than 700,000 inhabitants. The city is everything from a sacred pilgrimage to a center of finance and to an exotic tourist destination. Kathmandu is full of fascinating cultural places. Some of those are Bhimsen Tower, the Rana Palaces and the old Royal Palace. One of the greatest things about Kathmandu is that you can get around on foot. A dream journey for all mountaineers is to conquer Everest and the starting point is here at Kathmandu. However, if you’re not here for adventurous activities, Kathmandu has many great places teaching meditation, yoga and ayurveda.
Nightlife in Kathmandu could be just a relaxing night. There are some music performances at the temples all over the city during the nighttime which can give another good experience on Nepalese’ culture. Many restaurants in Thamel, Kathmandu’s downtown, usually have movie nights showing Hollywood movies. This can be an option to fill in your free time at night.
