This property is one of the Parkroyal group based in Singapore which has more than 11 properties throughout Southeast Asia. Just outside the hotel is the La Pyay Wun, which is one of Yangon’s few shopping centers. The famous Bogyoke Market is down the street but within walking distance. The famous Schwedagon Pagoda is a bit further and will require a taxi ride, but it is definitely worth the trip, since it is one of Myanmar’s premier tourist attractions. This is a very well managed hotel with excellent service etiquette and the facilities are well managed. The Music Club which is one of Yangon’s premier entertainment venues has a small disco, a live music venue, and a bar. There is a swimming pool, tennis court, a modern fitness center, and an aerobics studio.

The hotel is basically in the middle of the city. You can take a walk towards the city and explore the town area and the Bogyoke Market which has many interesting art and handicraft items. Going to the popular tourist site like the Shwedagon Pagoda and Kandawgyi Lake is 5 mins by taxi.

The hotel staff is very hospitable and helpful. The breakfast buffet is international and very good. It is a good price when included in the room. The evening and noon meals with the various international resturants are exceptional.
The business staff for checking email has good expertise and all of them are very helpful. The linens in the room are clean and fresh. I used the laundry service and it was clean and fresh.
The Breakfast is exceptional and the staff is very pleasant.
Some of the hotel rooms could be freshened up in decor. Very nice and comfortable and the staff is exceptional. More TV options would be good.
- Shopping Tip : The market is only a short walk away.

The hotel staff are gracious and helpful. Rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. Standard decor, nothing special but nice enough. The pool lacks character if that is important for guests. Located centrally makes hiring taxis, with help of hotel staff, quick and easy.
Location is great, walking distance to central core of city and the Scott's market. Pleasant rooms.
For such a large hotel, the lobby facilities are scarce. They are however renovating which might add some bar/restaurant options.
- Restaurant Tip : Stick to Asian cuisine. Lonely Planet guide overstates Yangon as a foodie "find." Le Planteur, a french eaterie, is gorgeous architecturally and worth a look-see for it's colonial renovations. The food is terribly overpriced and well below average. This is often the case for expat restaurants in SE Asia. Try the Chinese restaurant in the Grand Mee Ya Hta executive residence/hotel, excellent food, value for money, A/C and good service!
Don't miss art only! It's filled with fabulous Burmese antiques and more treasures. Huge and worth the visit!
