Dhonveli restaurant
The Dhonveli restaurant is spacious, open on all sides with bamboo shutters that can be pulled down in the event of the odd squall. Under the palm thatch, the floor is covered with fine white sand so you can dig your feet in as you enjoy your meals. Veligandu is certainly not the resort for you if you are planning to lose some weight during your holidays. The food here is excellent and rated very highly by guests.A choice of German, English and local breakfast is offered at the full buffet breakfast and a late breakfast is available from 9.30 to 11.00 am at the coffee shop. Lunch is always served buffet style, and dinner is served either buffet style or a la carte, with a wide choice of entrees, soups and desserts and a choice of main courses. These include continental and Asian dishes. The Maldivian buffet, seafood and pasta buffet, Mongolian and western barbecues provide a rich variety to the dinner programme. The Maldivian buffet gives you a unique opportunity to sample the local delights in an environment enhanced by the local costumes worn by the waiters, and followed by the evening’s entertainment when you get to sample the local music and dance. The seafood and pasta night features handmade genuine Italian style pasta.
The Haruge Bar & Coffee Shop
A spacious bar with a high thatched roof and comfortable seating, can offer you a wide range of refreshing drinks. You can enjoy your selection either inside the bar, with your feet in the sand, or outside on the spacious wooden deck on the beach. Coconut palms sway gently to the rhythm of the soft breeze as you sip your favourite cocktail.If you feel like it you may enjoy a small afternoon snack here. Snacks, including sandwiches, cakes and pizzas are available through out the day. The coffee shop snacks service is available only in the afternoons. Choose one of the many varieties of ice creams, offered here, to quench your thirst after a swim.
