We chose to stay at the Empress Hotel Sepang due to it's close proximity (about 10 minutes)to the MotoGP/F1 racing track. Getting to the track each day proved to be rather costly as the only transport was option was a taxi which cost 50RM each way each day. The dining room at the Hotel was always very messy, tables were left uncleared for long periods of time and the food was always cold. A sign in the lift advised of a water supply problem and requested people to conserve water (no mention was made of this at check in). After spending our first day at the track we came back to the hotel to find we only had a trickle of cold water that was very rusty. We advised reception and were told we would have water the next morning. During our 4 night stay we had no water at all for a period of about 28 hours straight and cold rusty water on and off for the rest of the time. No bottled water was provided by the hotel during this period. Toilets, bathrooms and coffee cups were not cleaned. We were totally unimpressed with this hotel. Staff were not helpful and at times were very rude. I would not stay here again no matter how cheap it was.
Location to the Sepang F1 track
Bad food, indifferent service
- Restaurant Tip : There are a couple of local cafes that are a much better option than the hotel Dining Room.

We had to pay an inlflated price for the room due to the Moto GP that was taking place that weekend when we booked the room. We requested a pick-up from the LCCT but it did not turn up. The room was a nice size, but the decor and furnishings looked tired. We only stayed for a few hours to sleep as we were in transit. Upon waking up, there was no hot water. I mentioned this to the receptionist who said that there was not hot water in the whole hotel (no compensation or apology). They did allow us to have an early breakfast, but it was not nice. The ride in the hotel car back to the LCCT was cheap, though.
The room was a good size and had a bed. That's about it!
Seedy, run down, stained carpet, no hot water on the night we stayed. Upon checking out the receptionist tried to charge me for international calls that I did not make. Breakfast was not nice.
- Hotel Feature Tip : Go somewhere else!

We used this hotel for 3 persons and had a big, beautiful room. The breakfast buffet is ok. I would only use this hotel if I want to be near the airport because there is nothing to do in the neighborhood. The hotel-shuttle to the airport is "chargeble" but when we had to go to the airport we were the only ones so they called a taxi special for us and we didn't have to pay. Next day however we had to pay 15 MYR per person! I think it depends on who is in charge that day. A little bit confusing.
- location near the airport
- breakfast buffet
- great family room
- location is only good if you want to go to the airport: there is nothing else to do
- the airport shuttle is (sometimes) chargeable
- Restaurant Tip : Just left from the hotel, across the street is a little basic restaurant (Roi Roi (?))that is actually very good!
