I was hopeful to stay at a nice hotel, as Novatel has a great reputation. This hotel was the worst hotel ever stayed at in Asia. Please don't waste your hard earned money......
Swimming Pool, Lobby and Front Entrance
The room was the worst room, I have ever stayed at in Asia. The room bed was terrible, the remote did not work, it smelled like smoke, there was nothing to read about Laos....
I suggest you spend your hard earned money and stay near the river in a guest house as it will cost you a fraction and may have a view, as our room had a view of the parking lot.
Overpriced and Overrated.....

The hotel is a little distance from the city centre but not too far to walk. It has buses available also to go to the centre of town. The hotel has a nice pool and a very good Sunday brunch. Internet in rooms is expensive. The hot water system needs attention. The hotel is large and has the old French colonial feel about it.
Comfortable, aesthetically pleasing hotel, nice pool, good Sunday brunch.
Shower's hot water doesn't last very long.

It's a good place to choose if you are a traveler. However, the hotel is just a little bit far from the center of the city. If comparing with other Novotels in the world, this one in Vientiane is not so good. I think it is more like a three star hotel.
The hotel is good at its food service since I have lived in several hotels in Vientiane.
The service is not so good. Around 8:30 a.m., no driver is standing by for guests although I have made the order at 7:00 a.m. And also, the room's Internet is also not good as other hotels.
