I spent a couple of nights at the resort during my trip to Luang Prabang. The resort is located farther away from town but they have shuttle bus that will take you back and forth through out the day. The resort is very beautiful and very quiet both during the day and night time, which is perfect to relax. The air is fresh and there was no noise from motorbike like most hotels in town. The room is decorated very nicely and staff are very friendly.

A wonderful and relaxing place to stay. The distance to and from town was rarely a problem as the free shuttle service was frequent. The pool was one of the best we`ve ever seen and offered a peaceful rural setting. The internet price was very reasonable at this luxury hotel.

Lovely grounds and gardens, and a striking swimming pool all amidst the paddy fields of a quiet farmimg community. Rooms are very comfortable, and have their own balconies. Right now, in the off-season, they are great value. If you are looking for a rest, this is a good choice. They do have a problem with power and water supply. Each of 3 days I was there there was a short power outage - so take a torch or candles. Once the power has gone at night it`s really dark. The water failed on two days - again not for long. The hotel provided no information about this so I have no idea if this is a regular occurence, or if I was simply unlucky. The breakfast was good, and the restaurant was good for the evening meal and reasonably priced too. A small problem is that they are addicted to repetitive Muzak in the restaurant and around the pool and it is usually at an intrusive volume. The staff seem to have standing orders to play it.

I have just returned from Luang Prabang with my wife after a 5-day stay, two nights at The Villa Santi Resort and Spa and three at The Grand, which is close by. We didn`t like The Grand. We loved The Villa Santi Resort, which fulfilled all of our expectations except one: early Dec `05 the Spa is still under construction, which is a shame because none of the websites mentioned that and it was a reason for us choosing this resort.
Nevertheless, if you are looking for a place to chill out, with a well appointed large room, good restaurant, great breakfast (fresh fruits and juices, a range of breads, cereals, cooked western and Asian fare), lovely grounds with several small private salas to relax in, a large and attractive swimming pool with bar...then I can`t recommend this resort highly enough.
