"Too far out of town"

Large beautiful resort with comfortable rooms and immense gardens. But the location was not convenient, as it was far outside of town. If you want the peace and quiet, OK. However, if you want to be more centrally located so that you are not dependent on transport, then look elsewhere.

The hotel was set in beautiful grounds along the Mekong river. The hotel itself was 5km from the center of Luang Prabang. We had minor glitches with our room which the staff did their best to solve. Overall a wonderful stay at one of the world`s most unspoilt and magical destinations.

Although not centrally located, the Grand Luang Prabang has the uncomparable views of the Mekong river from the hotel rooms. Buffet breakfast overlooking the river was great. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms and bathrooms could use a bit upgrading though.

Good hotel with fine views over the Mekong. However, the hotel was rather far out of town (there is a free shuttle bus, though).

This was one great hotel. Located in a quiet location overlooking the Mekong River. Everthing exceeded our expectations. It was about 2 miles outside of town but the hotel will take you. Highly recommended.
